Mohawks Stetch Home Win Streak
The Mohawks (10-5) stretched their home winning streak to six with a 6-3 win over Albany (3-11). Dan Zlotnick (W 1-0, Marist) worked 5.1 strong innings for the win while Abram Williams (Radford) snared his fourth save of the season.
Amsterdam jumped out in front 2-0 in first. Mel Rojas Jr. (Wabash Valley CC) singled and stole second. Matt Colantonio (Brown) singled him home then stole second as well. Matt Conway (Wake Forest) picked up his 15th rbi of the season knocking in Colantonio.
Three runs in the third had the Mohawks sitting pretty, but in the sixth Albany got back in it. Jon Leroux took over the NYCBL home run and RBI lead, hitting a two run home run.
Four straight singles in the seventh pushed the lead to 6-2, but the Mohawks stranded the bases loaded. Leroux made led off the eighth with a solo bomb to center to cut the lead to 6-3.
The Dutchmen challenged Jason Patten after Leroux�s bomb. They put runners on the corners with one away, and Radford was yanked in favor of Radford teammate Abram Williams. Williams got a quick double-play ball, then worked a one-two-three ninth for his fourth save.
The Mohawks hit the road Saturday to take on Mohawks Valley. First pitch in Little Falls is 7:05.
