Mohawks Nipped on the Road

The Mohawks dropped their third road game in a row at Mohawk Valley 6-5. The decisive run scored in the bottom of the sixth.

Jon Luke Jacobs (Auburn) started on the hill and got a no decision after pitching four innings. Adam Windsor took the loss. Cody Kulp (Shippensburg) and Matt Conway (Wake Forest) each provided an inning of scoreless relief.

The Mohawks jumped out in front in the first when Taylor Lewis singled home Mel Rojas Jr. (Wabash Valley CC) The Diamond Dawgs took leads of 3-1 and 5-3 but were matched each time by the Tribe.

The game was delayed substantially in the bottom of the fifth when Sharad Johnson of the Diamond Dawgs was hit in the head by a pitch.

Kris Barone, a Gloversville native, got the win for Mohawk Valley.
