First Trip to Albany Ends Well
The Mohawks (13-7) batted around in the second and hit a pair of homeruns in an 8-3 win at Albany (5-13). Kyle Hunter (Dartmouth) threw seven strong innings to pick up his second win of the year.
TJ Spina (Sante Fe) and Mel Rojas Jr. (Wabash Valley) had consecutive rbi hits in a three-run second inning. Rojas� was a two-run double. Watertown answered the runs with a 2-run home run from Brett Thomas in the bottom of the frame.
Cody Kulp (Shippensburg) quickly extended the lead back to three. Luke Maile (Kentucky) walked leading off the third, and Kulp deposited a home run in left center. Hunter held the Dutchmen without another run until the eighth, striking out six during the outing.
One of the Dutmen�s three errors helped push the lead to 7-2 in the sixth, and in the eighth Jon Schwind (Marist) hammered his second homer of the season.
Jason Patten (Radford) pitched the eighth and ninth, allowing one run to create the 8-3 final margin. Ricky Pacione (Marist) put in a couple innings of work behind the plate in relief of Maile.
The Mohawks return home for their 10th game in 10 days. First pitch at Shuttleworth is 7:05.
