Mohawks Victors at Home 5-4

The Mohawks (17-9) bounced back from back-to-back losses with a 5-4 win against Glens Falls (12-12) at home Friday night in front of 1753 fans. Five different Mohawks drove in the five runs.

Kyle Hunter (Dartmouth) pitched six strong innings, allowing only two hits and an unearned run to the Golden Eagles. Hunter is now 3-0, tying Sean Bouthilette (Kentucky) for the team lead in wins.

Kyle Koeneman (LSU) hit his third home run of the season, and added a double for the Mohawks. Amsterdam scored four runs in the first three innings against Clay Murphy, who had thwarted the Tribe on opening night and out of the bullpen in the teams last meeting.

Abram Williams (Radford) recorded the final five outs to pick up his league-leading eighth save. Williams, Jon Schwind (Marist), Jason Brooks (Dartmouth), and Matt Colantonio (Brown) have all been named to the All-Star team.

The win evens the season series at 2-2 with Glens Falls and keeps the Mohawks in first place over Oneonta. Cooperstown travels to Shuttlworth Park for a twin bill Saturday. The first game begins at 5:00. The Mohawks have already won the season series against the Hawkeyes.
