The Mohawks snapped their three-game skid with a 1-0 win at Mohawk Valley on a night that had potential to be even more special. Kyle Hunter (Dartmouth) pitched 8.2 innings without allowing a hit before the NYCBLs leading hitter, Kyle Richardson, spoiled the no-hit bid.

Taylor Lewis (Maine) provided the only score of the game with a two-out double with Luke Maile (Kentucky) at first in the fifth inning. It proved to be the only run Hunter would need.

Hunter had two innings that required only six pitches to get through. He struck out eight, walked only two, and allowed only four total base runners, picking off one of them at second.

Lewis also provided assistance with his glove. Making a diving catch to end the third inning with a runner in scoring position.

Kris Barone matched Hunter until the run in the fifth. Sean Leahy and Justin Brown stymied the Mohawks the rest of the way, but Hunter would not yield until Richardsons single. Abram Williams came on to strike out Matt James to end the game for his league-leading ninth save.

The Mohawks return to action at home Friday night at 7:05 against Albany.
