Mohawks Win Again
The Mohawks (19-12) topped last place Albany 9-6, jumping out 9-0 and holding on to secure a half-game hold on first place.
Dan Zlotnick (Marist) got the win on the hill, pitching seven innings while allowing only one earned run. He struck out eight batters in the effort.
The Mohawks banged out 10 hits, all singles, and capitalized on three errors, but made four defensive miscues of their own. Amsterdam scored six runs in the fifth innings and held on from there.
Jason Patten (Radford) got five outs, but with the tying run at the plate Keith Griffin went to his closer, and Abram Williams (Radford) induced a comebacker for his league leading 10th save.
The Mohawks stay at home to host the Watertown Wizards tomorrow at 7:05.
