Mohawks Win a Wet One
The weather won out on Saturday night, but so did the Mohawks, 9-2 in five innings over Watertown. Sean Bouthilette picked up his fourth win of the season.
Amsterdam wasted no time mauling Watertown's Mike Ciezko. Taylor Lewis (Maine) doubled to lead things off and the Mohawks batted around. Kyle Koeneman hit a two-run double with the bases loaded to highlight the four run inning.
After a rain delay in the third, the Mohawks were right back at it on the sticks. Taylor Lewis tripled to drive in two runs in the bottom of the frame. Rick Pacione and Sam Kidd also hit doubles.
The game was halted after the top of the fifth as thunderstorms rolled through. The Mohawks will play at Cooperstown tomorrow at 1:05.
