Mohawks Hall of Fame Bio: Jason Miller

Miller, a Plattsburgh NY native, was a decorated three-sport athlete in high school achieving many honors, which culminated with the NYHS State Baseball Championship title his senior year. Later that June, Miller was drafted by the Toronto Blue Jays as a 3rd baseman.

Miller elected to attend The College of Saint Rose in Albany, NY and forgo a professional baseball career at the time. Miller garnered several accolades at St. Rose including all conference, all region, and NCAA All American honors. Miller still holds several all-time records, including a single season batting average of .460, 50+ RBI's and 60+ runs and is still among the college's top-10 all-time NCAA era leaders in batting, runs scored, hits, doubles, home runs, RBI, slugging percentage, walks and fielding percentage. 

In 1991, Miller played for the Mohawks and coach Brian Spagnola. He was a pure hitter with great power to all fields and was one of the best hitters to ever wear a Mohawks uniform.

Miller was again drafted, this time out of college by the Texas Rangers as a left-handed hitting catcher and played professionally after graduation. 

Miller founded the Kangaroo Court Baseball Club in 2015 in Tampa, Florida. The organization has experienced tremendous growth and success on the national stage garnering several championship titles and team rankings in multiple age groups. The organization has its own state-of-the-art training facility, which serves as the indoor home to the players and teams. 

Kangaroo Court partnered with Top Tier Baseball out of Illinois for its high school aged players in the fall of 2016. The Florida based Top Tier Roos summer teams collected several titles and assumed a place in the national rankings after their first season of play. The program has since assisted players reach their dream of playing at the collegiate level at some of the biggest schools in both the ACC and SEC. These players join the long heritage of Top Tier Baseball commits which total over 400 players placed at the collegiate level and 90 who have been drafted and gone on to play professionally in the MLB. 

The Kangaroo Court and Top Tier Baseball group now has over 35 teams in their portfolio and has expanded to Miller’s hometown of Plattsburgh, NY.

Miller also works within the USA Baseball evaluation process and helps evaluate and identify players who aspire to represent their country. Miller has helped assist hundreds of players get an opportunity to compete in front of the USA Baseball Task Force in Cary, NC, home of USA Baseball. Several of these players have gone on to represent the US in international competition and bring back gold for the US.

Miller and his wife Jennifer reside in Trinity, FL and have been married for 22 years. They have three children, Olivia, a sophomore at the University of Alabama and member of the Bama Dance Team. Jackson, a senior at JW Mitchell High School, Wake Forest baseball commit and 2020 MLB draft prospect. Their youngest, Aidan, is a freshman at JW Mitchell High School and according to Perfect Game, the #2 ranked player in 2023 class.
