Mohawks Take First Place Over Oneonta, 9-2

The Mohawks took over sole possession of first place with a 9-2 win in Oneonta last night.

Amsterdam took a 1-0 lead in the third as Michael Ludowig hit an RBI single to score Mike Antico. The Mohawks then scored 5 runs in the fourth inning, highlighted by an Elvis Peralta Jr. 3-run home run as the Mohawks took a 6-0 lead.

Oneonta got on the board with a run in the fourth and each team scored 1 in the sixth before the Mohawks added 2 more runs in the eighth to make it 9-2.

Shane Mutnz got his first win by allowing 1 run in 2.2 innings in relief of starter Brendan McNerney who allowed 1 run in 4.1 innings of work. Brendan Coffey and Brad Busald each pitched a scoreless inning while Matt Bowman suffered his first loss with the Outlaws.

For the Mohawks, Michael Ludowig was 3-for-4 with 3 RBI and Cole Barr was 3-for-3 with a walk, an RBI and a run scored. For the Outlaws, Logan Thomason was 4-for-4 with a double and an RBI as Oneonta left 15 men stranded on base.
